Pancake Syrup



1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar (Homemade Brown Sugar Recipes)
1/2 cup sugar
1-1/2 cups water
1 cup corn syrup light or dark
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a saucepan, combine the sugars, water and corn syrup; bring to a boil over medium heat. Broil for 7 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from the heat; stir in maple flavoring and vanilla. Cool for 15 minutes. Yield 24 ounces. 

We have been going though a lot of syrup so I have altered this recipe. Below is the recipe for 128 ounces (1 Gallon)

  • 8 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2-2/3 cups sugar
  • 8 cups water
  • 5-1/3 cups light corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon and 2-1/4 teaspoons maple flavoring
  • 1 tablespoon and 2-1/4 teaspoons vanilla extract
